We all have one of those friends who only listens to hardcore, luckily however Quicksand has given us Distant Populations so that we will have something to show them for once. Distant Populations is the softer side of hardcore, only holding onto that title because of its hard drum beats and gritty riffs. Otherwise Quicksand to me sounds more closely to a hard alternative band from the early 2000’s. Like most hardcore out there Distant Populations has eleven shorter tracks that all contain their own small explosions of energy. Put some extra pillows on the bed because you will be sore after all this headbanging you will be doing.
